We are now working to add another project, work that is sadly overlooked due to it's nature, which is assisting ex youth offenders to receive training with the ultimate goal of gaining employment. As the situation stands now, if a boy or girl is released from a facility for committing criminal offences, there is nowhere for them to turn for assistance in training, education etc. The life back to crime is sadly often the only chance they have to put food in their mouths.
Hopefully we can secure funding to kick start this new program that is so in need.
We at Rose CGI are continuing our work with children in the Philippines. As of May 2017 we are sponsoring 43 children to attend school, 10 more than last year.
The following photos of our students and myself were taken at the shelter of The Cebu City Task Force on Street Children in Cebu City in March 2017.

We continue to work with our long time facilitator Mr Redentor Betito
He is the Executive Director, Cebu City Commission for the Welfare and Protection of Children and The Children of Cebu Foundation. A wonderful man who has dedicated his work for the well being of the children of Cebu.

Updated to 2017

Hi, a lot has happened since the last post here.
In 2015, 2016 and until 2017, Rose CGI has continued (under the radar so to speak) to support The Chiildren of Cebu Foundation and the Cebu City Task Force for Street Children.
We love our field work and are dedicated to the children but unfortunately we are not so good at promoting our work. With regards to helping more children, hopefully we can start to promote our work from now.

April 2016,

Rose CGI's 2016 batch of sponsored Cebu City students ( total of 32 now) along with Redentor Benito, Director of the NGO: Cebu City Task Force for Street Children and Executive Director, Cebu City Commission for the Welfare and Protection of Children
I coordinate all my activities in liaison with Reden and the Commission.

Today we had our annual meeting with our Cebu high school group that Rose CGI sponsors. Good to see them doing well in school and healthy. Great kids.

From June 2013, Rose CGI has had the pleasure of sponsoring the high school education of the above students. Having graduated from the Sidewalk Education Project, they are now attending high school.

Rarely in a children's food program are successful conclusions announced. However we at Rose CGI have such an announcement. After cooking and serving more than 10,000 lunches for children attending "Sidewalk Education" classes in Cebu City, Philippines, it has been announced that from June, the Philippine National Government will initiate a nation wide lunch program for children living in poverty. Bravo and thank you to President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino

We had a good turnout on November 15. With the fundraiser in Tokyo and a donation from a kind Toronto gentleman, Rose CGI will be able to continue the Cebu Lunch Project. I will be off to the Philippines on Dec. 15 to continue Rose CGI's field work.
